Best Veteran and non-Veterans Rehab
Heroes' MileVeteran and non-Veterans rehabs offer many advantages that civilian rehabs can’t, including peer support and trauma-informed care. But even among rehabs in Florida, some addiction treatment centers offer more care than others. At Heroes’ Mile, we are completely committed to giving them every tool they need to succeed in their fight against addiction.
The Heroes’ Mile Difference
Our Work:
Heroes’ Mile was originally established as a veteran-focused rehab by addiction experts in collaboration with Lieutenant General William Lennox. To provide the highest level of care, our team consists of military veterans who understand addiction through shared experiences. Due to the facility’s success, we later expanded our services to include non-veterans, ensuring more individuals have access to our specialized approach to recovery.
Community Care Partners:
We are partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), which allows us to work in tandem with other healthcare providers to provide the best results to military personnel who need addiction treatment.

EMDR Therapy:
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a cutting-edge treatment for PTSD. By activating select parts of the brain, this therapeutic technique can help veterans and non-veterans process trauma and address the underlying causes of addiction.
Group and Individual Therapies:
Sometimes, individuals need the support of others who have faced similar struggles, whether they are veterans or non-veterans. Other times, military personnel benefit most from one-on-one care with mental health and addiction specialists. Whatever the need, we offer flexible, personalized treatment options designed to equip each person with the tools for lasting sobriety.
Equine Therapy:
By undergoing therapeutic activities with horses on our spacious campus, individuals can learn how to take care of themselves by taking care of another creature.
Eating Disorder:
When you think of issues affecting veterans, eating disorders may not be the first thing to come to mind. But there is growing evidence that eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia nervosa are relatively common struggles that veterans can face during after their service.
Nutritional Education:
In the fight against addiction, it’s essential that individuals have access to high-quality foods that will give them the energy to be active participants in their recovery. Each individual receives a personalized meal plan specifically designed to keep them healthy and ready to continue the war against substance abuse.
Relapse Prevention Planning:
Sometimes, you have to lose the battle to win the war. But our relapse prevention planning gives clear guidelines on what individuals can do to stay sober when they can feel a relapse coming on. Not only does that mean better treatment outcomes for our vets, but it means peace of mind and relief for their families.
Personal Training:
Individuals who take care of their health are more likely to stay in recovery long-term. That’s why we have a personal trainer on staff, and his background as a Navy SEAL qualifies him to both understand what individuals with addiction issues go through and to provide expert advice on physical health.
Education and Support for Military Families:
Both addiction and military service have profound effects on families. To help restore family bonds and make sure our individuals have a supportive environment to go home to, we work with families to share information on addiction, individuals life, and how they can help support their lives.
